How can you save up to 49% on mailing expenses?
Question: How can you save up to 49% on mailing expenses?
Answer: Fold documents in half!
Converting mail pieces weighing 3.0 ounces or less from Flat class to Letter class is one of the easiest ways to cut costs.
By folding 8 1/2” x 11” documents in half and utilizing a 6” x 9” envelope instead of mailing documents flat in a 9” x 12” envelope, savings of about 49% per mailing can be achieved.
- Example based on August, 2008 USPS rates and regulations
- Assuming: total weight of mailing (including envelope) is not over 1 oz. and thickness is not over ¼”
- A 6” x 9” envelope would cost $0.42, a 9” x 12” envelope cost is $0.83.
Note Tyvek and clasp envelopes do not apply.
